Editorial Contributions
Contributions for editorial placement are invited on an ongoing basis from
advertisers and other industry professionals involved with Property Management.
The following guidelines have been introduced to give some direction for
potential contributors and to ensure consistency in editorial standards. Production
issues
The Property Management journal is published four times a year with publication
dates set as follows:
18th January, 15th April, 15th July, 15th October
Editorial submissions are required by the following dates:
7th December, 7th March, 7th June, 7th September,
Copy should be provided in an MS Word format and emailed to
feedback@propertymanagementjournal.com.au
Typesetting allows for approximately 450- 500 words per page and articles of
varying lengths are accepted. Photographs, diagrams and graphs are also
welcomed and may be submitted in an Adobe Acrobat PDF or jpg file format,
either via email or on CD. Editorial issues
The journal is produced as a professional publication for property managers
across Australia and New Zealand. The intention of the publication is to
develop professional standards and to educate property managers as well as
assist them in keeping current with product changes and other professional
matters. There are a number of broad themes which are used in developing
editorial content including:
-
Property Management practice issues
-
Technology
-
Legal matters
-
Current and new legislation
-
Risk Management
-
Business and financial matters
-
Innovations in housing / building industries
-
Marketing
-
Innovations and trends in products available to the industry
-
Professional standards
-
Socio-economic issues impacting on property and housing
However, editorial content does not necessarily need to be limited to these
core themes. Continuity or staged articles (across 2 or more issues of the
journal) may be submitted, although an outline of the process would need to be
approved at the commencement of the series.
A clear distinction should be made between 'advertorials' and 'editorials'. The
integrity of the journal is very important to the publishers and to the
industry. The publication of advertorials as editorials is not consistent with
the standards which have been set.
Media Releases, Product information bulletins, and human interest stories
(particularly industry related case studies) are also welcome.
